During May half term our Youth Narrative group had an amazing opportunity to go down to London and Leicester to explore how other communities see integration and Cohesion. During the trip they explored cultures & beliefs of other young people and had the opportunity to discuss the public’s and partners views on how integration and cohesion effects their community. They used surveys and video dairies to capture the views of all people they met.
Whilst carrying out research for the Youth Narrative project the young people had lots fun going to the newest Onside Youth Zone; Future Youth Zone. They also visited Leicester Youth services and Stocking Farm Youth Centre where they led critical conversations around integration and cohesion. During the week long trip they were given an exciting opportunity to explore & learn about Westminster Cathedral, Sikh Temple, Hindu temple, Downing street, Buckingham Palace and much more sight seeing opportunities.
All young people found it a great experience and enjoyed being able to explore other communities, faiths, cultures,
We are excited to see how our Youth Narrative project continues to grow and develop.
The Youth Narrative Project runs weekly on a Monday 6:30-7:30 for ages 12-16.
