Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone celebrated the success of the Eid Family Fun Day on Saturday, April 27th. The event was a collaboration between Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone, One Voice, IMO and the local community. Over 700 young people and families gathered to celebrate the day.
The event showcased the dedication of youth workers, volunteers, and community members who joined forces to ensure its success. The Eid family fun day featured diverse activities, including face painting, football, henna art, inflatables, street food, and an exciting play area.
Blackburn & Youth Zone is a charity dedicated to young people, providing over 60 hours of services when schools are closed. The membership services now benefit 5,000 young people, with 50% of the membership coming from the South Asian Community and 50% from the White British Community. The provision takes place at a state-of-the-art centre in Blackburn and their satellite site in Darwen, with a dedicated SEND and employability service open to young adults up to the age of 25.

Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone continues to catalyse positive change and unity within the Blackburn & Darwen community.
The esteemed presence of Mayor Parwaiz Akhtar and the Mayoress of Blackburn added to the festivities.
Mayor Akhtar commended the Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone Youth Zone’s efforts in nurturing the community’s young people.
“Amazing projects like this help build young people in the community,” Mayor Akhtar emphasised.
The success of the Eid family fun day highlights how Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone’s is supportive and has an inclusive environment for young people empowering them to thrive.
