The company has committed to become a Patron of Blackburn Youth Zone, whose aim is to create a more positive future for young people of Blackburn with Darwen, by pledging their support for the foreseeable future.
The youth centre has a growing membership of almost 3,000 young people aged eight to 19 (or up to 25 for those with disabilities) and receive almost 900 visits a week. The mission of the centre is to promote community cohesion, skills and aspirations and health and wellbeing to the young people in the borough.
Blackburn Youth Zone opens 7 days a week and provides more than 20 bespoke activities and projects for young people for just 50p per visit. BYZ focus on creating an inclusive culture for members, with targeted services to ensure everyone is able to integrate into the universal provision.
Chairman of Vision Support Services, Dan Wright, said: “We, at Vision, are honoured to lend our support to Blackburn Youth Zone. We try to support families, children and young people in every country in which we operate and have previously supported charities such as The Knowledge Foundation in Pakistan and Kids at School in Nepal so it made absolute sense to support a cause in our home town, too.”
“We’re very proud to become a Gold Patron and are looking forward to supporting the work that Blackburn Youth Zone does, in whatever way we can.”
Andrew Graham MBE, Founder of Blackburn Youth Zone and CEO Graham and Brown
“It’s fantastic for our team at BYZ to receive this support of Vision Support Services, we are dedicated to helping the young people in our community and without the support of local businesses that want to put something back and make a difference, it would not be possible. So we are very grateful to Vision for their incredible support, it gives everyone in our team a huge lift in energy to continue with the great work they do.”
