Vision and WestPoint Home Set to Go to New Heights in Charity Skydive

Following the news of the recent acquisition of Vision Support Services by US textile giant, WestPoint home, a team of dedicated staff from both sides of the Atlantic are now set to take on a new challenge; a 15,000 ft charity skydive at the Black Knight Parachute Centre in Lancaster.

Eight brave daredevils will be performing the skydive including Josh Allen, who has previously completed the skydive raising money for Headway, a charity which aims to improve people’s lives after brain injury, Gemma Blake, Sue Morley, Sarah Burton, Connor Smith, as well as the WespointHome team; Chief Marketing Officer Regan Iglesia, Senior Vice President of Hospitality Keith Lang and Vice President of Human Resources Mike Smith.

The skydive is being held in order to raise money for our charity partner, Blackburn Youth Zone, on the 17th August and aims to raise vital funds in order to support young people across the Blackburn area.

Blackburn Youth Zone is at the heart of the local community and its hub ensures that young people have somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to – all for just 50p a visit.

Sponsorship of community hubs such as these go a long way to ensuring the youth initiative stays open and aims to change the prospects of young people aged 5 – 25 in the region. Blackburn Youth Zone needs £1.2m a year in order to keep its doors open and Vision hope that this charity skydive goes some way into making that possible.

Head of Marketing, Gemma Blake, said: “After announcing our Gold patronage of Blackburn Youth Zone earlier this year, we’re delighted (and a little terrified!) to be able to raise some really fundamental money for this worthwhile charity.

The work that Blackburn Youth Zone does is so inspiring to see and it’s really making an active difference in the lives of young people across the borough.  From sponsoring a barrel at the Beer Festival earlier in the year to this charity skydive; we hope to continue doing as much as we can to support them.”

Every penny really does make a difference so we’d like to ask our customers, followers and supports to donate what they can to the charity skydive. To do so, please visit https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/VisionSupportServices

Remember; be sure to keep an eye on our social feeds on the 17th August to follow updates on how our jumpers got on.
